The Best Day Trips From Dubai

With the launch of our Dubai Guide, we wanted to do a deep dive into day trips in this region. Dubai is about 14 hours from Toronto by plane (a long journey that is definitely worth it) but if you’re going to head out all that way you can also take some detours from Dubai to make it even more memorable.

  1. Dubai Desert Trip: For a city as large as Dubai, it’s actually pretty easy to get out and into nature. We took a tour with Platinum Heritage and had an incredible time exploring the dunes, drinking Karak tea, and getting treated to a falcon show and traditional Emirati food.

  2. Hatta Mountains: Located about an hour and a half from Dubai, the Hatta mountains are perfect for those looking to fit some nature into their UAE vacation. The region has a wealth of activities from kayaking to mountain biking and hiking, as well as preserved historical attractions and untouched wilderness.

  3. Jebel Jais: If the Hatta mountains aren’t high enough for you, then Jebel Jais will challenge you even more. This mountain is the highest peak in the UAE and has a culture of adventure associated with it. There are wadis, pools of water that people jump in to, as well as trails and zip lining courses. If you’re searching for some adrenaline then look no further than this tour, which will also pick you up at your hotel.

  4. Mleiha Archaeological Site: Mleiha, located in the neighbouring emirate of Sharjah, showcases extensive archaeological treasures from the region, with artifacts dating back to the Neolithic period and showcasing Bedouin settlement patterns in the Middle East. The site has done a great job of preserving the history and welcoming visitors in to experience it.

  5. Snoopy Island, Fujairah: If tropical vibes are what you need for a day, Snoopy Island in the emirate of Fujairah is a great choice. Here you can relax in a sleepy seaside town while snorkelling with turtles, swimming in an infinity pool or even dancing at a music festival. Most Dubai visitors do not head out this way, and we think that’s a shame, but it’s great news for you.
